Do not fall in love with someone like me

Do not fall in love with someone like me.
I will know who you are, even the parts of you you don't want me to see
I will know your dreams and your deepest desires.
I will know who you truly, sincerely want to be.

Do not fall in love with someone like me.
I will always be one step ahead of you, always getting you to reach for me.
I will be the biggest puzzle of your life ever
A constantly changing puzzle I will try to get you to answer.
I will challenge you, I will push you and drag you on
Until you give up on me in hopes I will stop
And I will, but not for long

Do not fall in love with someone like me.
I will let your brains dry up trying to solve my mysteries
I will argue with you, even if I agree
Because a plain, unheated conversation bores me.
I will be competitive, even with you
Because I'm someone no one can tell what to do

Do not fall in love with someone like me
You won’t be the prince charming you’d hoped to be
I’m not a damsel in distress in a need to be saved
In everything I will try to be one step ahead
I will tell you I really don’t need all this love indeed
But I would never, ever actually let you go and leave

Do not fall in love with someone like me
You will realize by and by my hypocrisy
I will stand up and show the world how tough I am, and some
But I will cry and curse and wallow by the time you’re gone
I will conquer the world with one hand
One, because I will need you to hold the other
I will never ask you to be part of my plan
But I will always have you in mind as I fight my own battles
